Intermediate French II
This was one of my more challenging classes from this year as it was another language and I hadn’t taken french since my junior year of high school. It was definitely a lot to take in the first few weeks since the teacher only spoke french and I was out of practice after a year off. Despite the lack of understanding I felt during most classes, the teacher did a good job of laying out what was needed and due that week. However, I also felt slightly frustrated in this class because I felt I was behind my classmates and was always behind in understanding that weeks course. Luckily my reading and speaking wasn’t to bad, which helped me still do ok on exams and quizzes. Since this was a language class, the amount of homework and outside assignments were a bit much, but I understand it was necessary to drill in the lessons. The transition from in class to online actually helped me in this case since my grade at the beginning was just ok. Not being confined to a 50 minute class and having extra time to study was definitely a bonus. While this class wasn’t the worse and it became easier with time, I’m definitely happy that I don’t have to take another year of language. Taking this class reminded me of why consistent hard work is important as lots of studying and repeating is what helped my grade go up in the end. It also showed me that additional outside work is always helpful in getting the best scores!
Here is a clip from one of the online discussions we had to complete when we switched to online classes! Sorry it’s so big, I couldn’t figure out how to make the video smaller!
