As I come to the end of my college career, I spend a lot of time worrying about my future and the responsibilities we take on as adults. To decrease our worrying, as much as he could, Dr. Bates attempted to give us some knowledge of the real world during our Senior Seminar classes. Each day, we would discuss how to be a real adult. Some lessons included paying student loans, how to find the right insurance, and how to budget. All of these topics, we asked to be taught, which made the class feel personal. For our culminating assignment, we wrote a paper on everything we learned in Anthropology up to that point to create a portfolio to look back on after graduation.
