History 125: World History 1 (Fall)

World History was always a subject I felt passionate about throughout my life. I have spent countless hours watching documentaries, reading books, and seeking answers to questions I had on topics. Coming into college, I believed World History 1 would be a breeze. I quickly learned that this was not the case. After struggling with the transition to college, I began to slack off in this course specifically. This course was my first class on Monday mornings so I began to wake up late or skip classes. As the semester went on, I failed quizzes and tests that I normally would feel prepared for. I no longer was able to confidently walk into class passionate about Ancient history. In the end, I failed this course and the weight of my failure destroyed me. My failure taught me that just because something was easy for me in the past, that does not mean I can slack off and get by. World History 1 showed me how different college is compared to high school.
