French 211 was my second and final foreign language course I would need to take at Longwood to fulfill my graduation requirements. Overall, this class focused much more on culture and the different ways the French influence touched the world. We spent majority of our timing learning language, but Dr. Edwards also took time to discuss deeper issues such as colonialism and immigration. Our final test of the semester featured an essay on immigration and our views through what we learned this year. This helped teach us the ways that we can touch deeper issues in many different ways. We not only learned about language but were able to have meaningful conversations about issues many deem controversial.
