Summer Bridge

During the LIFE STEM summer bridge, we visited Tangier Islands for a day. It was a great time and we got to venture all around. There were gift shops, places to eat, a museum, however, there is only so much one can fit on a tiny island that is only getting smaller. Tangier Island is slowly becoming non-existent because of the rising sea levels. Our assignment was to interview the townspeople about land and their relationship with it. Some were willing to share a lot, but others kept it brief because they were sad about their home going underwater. Overall, my experience at Tangier Islands was awesome because I got to experience a scientific phenomenon with my new friends 🙂
