Health Psychology

Health Psychology filled the Historical and Contemporary or Behavioral and Social Perspectives requirements. It also is a requirement for my Psychology major. I took this course with professor Ritzert. This class really related with my life and was very interesting to me. I actually enjoyed doing the extra work for this class and learning the material. I found the material easy to connect to, and this allowed me to accel in the class. However, what was challenging was behavior change project that we completed in the course. This project focused on a behavior that you wanted to change in your life. In college, I had a specific routine that I followed, and I was very busy the majority of the time. I had trouble implementing this behavior change in my everyday life. Also, in the middle of this project the Coronavirus pandemic hit, and it created a disturbance during my behavior change. This was very challenging to deal with and continue my experiment in. Professor Ritzert was very understanding and helped me all along the way which really relieved me of a lot of stress. This class taught me that health is very important and can be looked at in many different ways all throughout the world. This class gave me the extra strength I needed to change a health behavior in my life and the importance of doing so. I gained a lot of confidence and drive in this class. The artifact below is my behavior change final essay. This essay displays the research that was done on a health behavior and how it can impact my life.
