SPAN 210- Beginning Integrated Language and Culture

This was my second Spanish course in which I built upon the skills I learned in Spanish 110. While Spanish does not come easy to me, I still enjoyed aspects of this course. We focused on reading, writing, speaking and different Spanish speaking cultures. Overall, I felt as though all of the information was useful and made me feel more confident to visit Spanish speaking countries.

While all of the aspects were important in their own way, I felt as though speaking was especially useful. When you visit different countries, you have to be able to communicate with others to a certain extent. During this course we had many activities and tests that involved having a conversation with the professor in Spanish. These exercises were very important to me because that is how I would use these skills in real life.

This course taught me to have more of an open mind and really challenged my learning capabilities. At first, I was nervous about taking this course but I learned that if I tried my best and studied all that I could, everything would work out. These are skills that I can apply to any course and in life in general.

Below is a quiz my partner and I made for a group project. We had to choose an artist, provide background information on his or her life, show examples of their work and create an assignment for the class to complete. The artist we chose was Frida Kahlo.
