HBSI 395- HON: Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovative Citizenship

I took this course to help satisfy my Cormier Honors College requirements and it sounded interesting. Whenever I take a course for the honors college, I try to pick different and interesting courses unlike any I have taken before. This was definitely one of those courses. During this course, I learned more about what it is like being entrepreneur and using my own creativity in new ways. I also did various self-discovery assignments that made me realize what I can offer to society and how to be a better citizen.

Throughout this course I worked on several different assignments and projects. I had to do reading responses, create a public narrative about myself and come up with a business model, just to name a few. I really liked how this course combined an entrepreneur business mind set with creativity. I have always been a more creative person when contrasted against business, so this course was a fun challenge for me.

The link above is a major project my partner and I completed. After pitching our business ideas to our class, we both realized we had similar ideas and wanted to collaborate. The overall purpose of our project was to focus on women’s empowerment and we spent quite a bit of time combing our thoughts in order to make this powerpoint. This powerpoint outlines our proposed business and how it would work if implemented. I found this project to be very enjoyable but also challenging. Women’s empowerment has always been an important topic to me so I was glad to hear someone wanted to work with me on this project. This project is one of the reasons why I enjoyed this course. It allowed me to take my knowledge or topics I am passionate about and explore them in new ways.
