BIOL 364- Perspectives in Toxicology

This class gave me knowledge of a topic that I did not know much about, but learned to love a lot. It taught be about human health and how that relates to chemicals in the environment and in medication. The final project at the end of this class was to write a risk assessment of a particular chemical in an area where the exposure was above where it needed to be. This project involved a lot of research and gave me multiple hurdles throughout. After starting the project, I quickly realized I needed to change my topic, since my current topic did not have enough information supplied. This taught me to do more research on a topic before committing to writing about it. I will put this into consideration in the future as I chose topics for a particular paper.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to learn about toxicology because it is very relevant to everyday life. There are so many factors that influence how chemicals react in our body, including age, gender, weight, etc., and it is important to note this when medication is taken.
