HIST 125- World History 1

This was my first completely asynchronous class at Longwood. It was a completely different experience than the hybrid or in person classes. At first, it was really hard for me to adjust because we could do everything on our own time, so I had to put time aside to do everything for this class on my own. For the first few weeks, I fell really behind, but I eventually got a handle on it all by the middle of the semester.

One skill I really advanced on during this class was time management. As stated before, I had to manage my time wisely because no one was scheduling class meetings. My motivation struggled for this class because of this reason, but when I got control, my time management for not only this class, but all my classes, really improved. I think this class actually helped me get my overall schedule together, which taught me a lot for future semesters.

The artifact I chose for this class was my final paper on a book we had to read for the class. I think this reflects how my time management skills really improved, because this was an assignment we were given at the beginning of the semester and it was due at the end. It wasn’t something I could procrastinate on and I was really proud of how I spaced out my work on this paper rather than waiting until the last minute.
