ENGL 165- Writing and Rhetoric

ENGL 165 is a foundation course at Longwood, and I can see its importance after completing the class. When I fist began the course, I felt very bored and frustrated because it was just another beginner english class that was going to involve a lot of writing. Although, I liked how the class was taught and I believe that I actually learned a lot about writing, not only in english classes, but in all kinds of classes.

ENGL 165 focused on the concept of writing across the curriculum, or being able to write using various conventions that are used in all kinds of fields. I think that I learned important information in this class that will actually be useful as I continue throughout my time at Longwood. I think my writing has improved a lot through this semester after taking this fundamental and important writing class.

The artifact that I am including below is my academic article, which was the major assignment we had to complete in ENGL 165 and I think it greatly displays what I learned in the class and how I will utilize that information going forward. This assignment was completed over a few weeks with periodic due dates, which really helped me to make it the best work that I possibly could have.
