SPAN 211: World Language Perspective

SPAN 211 was an amazing opportunity to grow my knowledge on the culture and language of Spanish speaking countries. I was excited to take this course because it would allow me to gain information that I could use in my future career as a nurse and help patients who speak this language. Although I struggle at times with Spanish, this class created a positive atmosphere and my professor did an amazing job to ensure I learned to the best of my ability. My greatest achievement in this class was learning how positive interactions with classmates and the professor can have a major influence on your achievement in the classroom. Furthermore, it allowed me to recognize the influence one’s attitude about learning a subject can have on actually remembering the information. The greatest takeaway from this class would be taking responsibility to learn as much assigned material as possible before class so that the information is not new when it is presented in class.

During this class, we were separated into groups and did a project. My group did a project on the remix of the song “Calma” by Pedro Capó, Farruko, and Alicía Keys. The presentation to this project is linked below.
