HLTH 210: Global Citizenship

I took HLTH 210 over winter intercession my freshman year. It was a challenge at first because I had never taken an online college class in such a small period of time. However, I really enjoyed taking this class. I was supposed to travel to Ireland the summer of 2020 on a study abroad trip that was focusing on the global health system and this class was a great introduction for that even thought the trip was cancelled. The majority of this class was writing infused and we were required to write discussion posts while replying to other classmates. I really enjoyed being able to see other student’s perspectives on the same topics and I definitely am glad I decided to take this class. Overall, the greatest take away from the class was the focus on online assignments and learning to navigate through assignments without being in the physical classroom setting. Furthermore, I think that greatly helped me when we had to take the rest of spring semester online due to the corona virus.

For one of the discussion boards, we were required to choose a topic or problem seen around the world today, research that problem, and then develop an intervention for that problem. I choose an intervention for the control of tobacco use. The link to this is below.
