PSYC 101: Scientific Reasoning

I really enjoyed this class. Although I am not a psychology major, many of the things discussed throughout this class can help me in my nursing classes. I learned how the brain works and why we as humans do the things we do. I had previously never taken a psychology class so I was really excited to be introduced to many of the topics we discussed. It was not like some of the other classes I took freshman year. It was engaging and the professor made sure that we fully understood the concepts before moving on. I also had never taken a class with the amount of student interaction that was in this class. Everyday there was an activity of some kind that allowed students to interact with one another and get a hands on experience about the topics being discussed. Although I have never enjoyed group work, this class influenced the way I learned and made me realize that student interaction and group activities can greatly affect the amount of information a person retains.

The most interesting assignment I did was one regarding the power that a certain situation has over individuals and specifically the Zimbardo Stanford Prison study. Below is the link to the reflection assignment.
