The attached artifact was my final submission and project for my music appreciation class. This class was unlike any other for me, as the others were either regular general education classes or classes that related to my major so I had a hard time relating to the content covered throughout the semester. However, it also encouraged me to push myself and broaden my horizons. For example, without this class I probably never would have gone to a student performance on a Thursday afternoon or gotten the chance to attend an opera in Richmond, an experience I enjoyed very much. This paper takes the material learned in class and applies it to my major, a connection I never would have imagined. With a ten page product, I’m very proud of the finished piece and found the research quite interesting and made me look at the different varieties of music in a whole new light.
