Lightning Strike 1

Fall 2019 – ATTR 371

“lightning strikes” ARE SEMESTER LONG RESEARCH PROJECTS THAT WE PRESENT TO OUR PEERS AND professors at the end of every semester in the athletic training program. Since these projects are presented in person, I do not have a recording of my presentation.  However, here is the PowerPoint of my compiled research.  We are allowed to have the slides up behind us when presenting, but they cannot contain words.  Basic points that I hit throughout the presentation are written in the notes section below each slide.

Reflection: My very first lightning strike presentation was a very basic topic because I was only just beginning my athletic training education. This project introduced me to the world of sports medicine research and how many different articles there are. It was difficult to navigate some of the scientific journals because some cost money to view. Although ankle anatomy, diagnosis, and rehabilitation is a very basic concept in the athletic training world, this project gave me new insight into the injury process. This information will help me navigate both my academic and clinical endeavors in the program. Furthermore, presentations to a crowd make me very anxious, and I need to improve on my public speaking skills.
