Letter to Senior Self

Dear future me,

I hope you are doing well mentally, emotionally, and physically.  I hope you have made and keep up with some life long friendships that may even be your bridesmaids some day.  I know athletic training is your passion and the path you have always wanted to explore in life.  So, I hope your studies have gone exactly the way you wanted and more.  I know you have probably experienced some confusing or complicated times through college, but I hope you handled them with compassion and understanding.  It is all part of the process of growing as a person.

I believe in your ability to persevere through your academics and leadership.  I hope you keep that GPA up, and never forget that you are the most hardworking person I know!  However, try not to make academics your sole purpose in college.  Engage in the Longwood community however you can!  Participate in the Longwood events and make as many memories as possible.  College is your time to have new and fun experiences, so I hope you made the most of it.

As for service, I know you enjoyed working with people and putting smiles on people’s faces in high school.  I hope you joined some clubs or organizations that can do the same for you in college.  Although your major is centered around helping people, I hope you branched out of your comfort zone to meet new and exciting people along the way.  I hope you kept scholarship, community, and service in mind throughout your journey as an undergraduate, and I hope you continue engaging in them even after college.

As a graduate, I hope you have a job in place and a fire in your heart that is ready to continue on your career path.  My biggest goal is to become the best athletic trainer I can be, and I hope you get us there.  For now, I am proud of you for all that you have done and accomplished throughout college.  I believe in you and our future, and I am counting on you to have the best college experience possible!  Never give up!

With love,

Past you
