HONORS COMMUNITY

The entire Longwood University student body is the most welcoming and infatuating community I have ever been immersed in.  I have never experienced a more helpful and open group of people before I came to college.  My first encounter with Longwood students was through the Cormier Honors College.  Everyone was so accepting and excited to meet me without any sort of reserve.  My honors mentor was the sweetest person I have ever met, and she introduced me to the many honors students that I am still very close with today.  The honors community has helped me engage in both the academic and social opportunities that fill Longwood’s campus.  I am very grateful to be a part of such a diverse and wholesome group of people!

ALPHA GAM COMMUNITY

In my second semester of freshman year, I joined the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. This was one of the best decisions I have made in college because of the opportunities it has brought me. I was positively influenced by many incredible women, younger and older, who have shaped many of the values I still carry with me today. I was able to hold a leadership position and contribute my positive hardworking spirit to an organization on campus. I was able to be a role model for younger sisters by advocating for them and allowing their voices to be heard. This group of women made me feel wanted, needed, heard, and respected. I am grateful for all of the ups and downs because I became a better woman by learning from and contributing to this organization.

ATHLETIC TRAINING COMMUNITY

I am extremely appreciative of the athletic training community at Longwood University, specifically my peers. As the last graduating class from Longwood, we have stuck together for four years now. We have each others backs, confide in each other, support each other in many ways, and are the only ones who know what we are going through. I have made some definite lifelong friends in this small community of 7, and I do not think I would have made it the whole way without them. They bring me joy, laughter, and calmness in a profession that is so incredibly stressful. I am also thankful to have met some of the best athletic trainers I know and will continue to look up to. I have grown a lot in this field, and it would not have been possible without the support and love of my athletic training family.
