Beyond The Numbers

Beyond the Numbers is an after-school program that I am involved with at least once a week. Longwood students who are a part of this organization travel to a nearby apartment complex and work with the school-age kids that live there. Typically, the ages range anywhere from four-year-olds to middle school aged students. Each day we get the children off the bus, help them with their homework, read with them, play games with them, and take them outside to play sports if the weather permits it. It is a highly rewarding program to be a part of and I hope to continue being part of the organization throughout my time at Longwood University.
