Exercise Intervention and Disease

Exercise intervention and disease, taught by Dr. Jimenez, delved into how diseases such as cancer and diabetes affect your body and your health. We talked about the different medications used for diseases, such as beta blockers and how they stop the person’s heart from going above a certain rate. This type of medication is important to know about if you are exercising someone because you need to know that for perceived exertion we have to use RPE scales instead of heart rates.

This class is helpful now because of the internship I am in. Previously learning stuff about diseases has helped me work with the patients in cardiac rehab to the best of my ability
