Honors English 400
Honors english 400 is a requirement by the honors college. Although I do not like english courses usually, this course was special. We focused on interacting with the inhabitants of Farmville who were affected by the Prince Edward County schools closings. This forced me to interview someone who I never would have met otherwise. Danny Morton was an amazing guy who taught me a lot about how different times were back in the 1950s.
This class was interesting because the interviews were all combined to create a magazine that the class published and then was distributed around the town. We had to work as a unit to create a name for the magazine and decide a chronological order for the stories that would make the magazine more sellable.
I learned how to listen instead of placing my ideas first which is a quality that can be taken and applied anywhere in life.
