Art 125
Art 125 was taken to accomplish the general education goal 4, artistic achievement. There were many options, including music and other art classes; however, I prefer to actually participate in the class instead of a lecture. Studio art has been very fun but also included homework that was checked. The professor, Dr. Johnson, checked our sketches to make sure we actually completed them on time, but they were not graded on creativity or ability to draw. This class had sections on drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. I looked forward to sculpture the most until I learned we were sculpting from a nude model. This was something I had never done before and I think it helped me grow as a person because the artist has to be respectful, and refined so as not to hurt the model’s feelings. All together, this has been my favorite general education goal so far.
Below are two photos submitted for my photography portion of the class
