Service
2015 Service to me is not always about volunteering, but about servicing the community in some ways with even a job. For example, I am an employee at Bath and Body Works and it is very enjoyable. It also helps teach me how to follow instructions along with customer service. Besides my job, I also volunteer. For three years in high school, I was a volunteer assistant softball coach for my middle school team.
However you contribute to the community is up to you, but service or volunteer service is a great way to help out others.
This past fall, my softball team and I went to an old horse farm to help clean out stalls. We also were allowed to lead horses into pastures and help a new horse learn how to be around people. The owners greatly appreciated our help and any help that could be given.
Helping people is important to the community and to ourselves. There is no better feeling than knowing that what you did helped some one else out.
2016-2017 This year my volunteer activity was to work the 5k and half marathon at high bridge trail. We created posters for inspiration for the runners and also handed out water. This is not the first I’ve worked an event like this. When I was younger I did volunteer at a triathalon to hand out water and tshirts. It is always amazing to be able to encourage people to meet their goals.
