MATH 171, or statistics, was one of the few classes first semester freshman year that took up a lot of time. Statistics has never been my favorite but this class was not as bad and I had assumed it would be. However, it was still difficult to understand many of the concepts because I had never taken a statistics based math class. About half way through the semester things began to get a little easier. I am not sure whether I was getting the hang of the professors teaching strategies or if I was just becoming more comfortable at college in general but things became slightly easier. The professor was also available for questions and worked to ensure his students the best education he could give.
The biggest project we had was due at the end of the semester. This was difficult because I had never written about math before, which proved to be quite difficult. However, our group ended up doing really well on the assignment and it was a great learning experience. Attached below is a copy of the written portion of this project.
