NURS 370 presented further content that was learned in SOCL 331 by adding nursing care in relation to the issues of aging. It emphasized the role of the nurse in health promotion, risk reduction, and disease management for those of the aging population. While I had a foundation of this information from SOCL 331, this class furthered my knowledge with specifics of the nursing care.
One of the largest assignments we had in this class focused on choosing an older adult to complete an assessment on. This assessment included demographic data, medical history, social history, family history, system review, pharmacologic data, and other pertinent information. This assessment was cumulative of everything we had learned throughout the course. You can find my assessment paper below.
