THEA 101

Issues in Theatre • Stephanie Howieson • Spring 2019

As a former actor and current fan of theatre, it only made sense that this class would fulfill one of my goals. It was a different approach to theatre than I was used to, but I was intrigued to learn some new aspects of theater, such as marketing tactics and different ethics in writing and using scripts. It was also a speaking-intensive class, which gave me a chance to speak up more than I was used to doing in most classes.

For the final project for this class, we had to create a children’s theatre company, a poster, a season, and a short play to be performed by us. Attached is the poster I created for our company! This was my favorite project in the course, as it allowed us to engage our creative minds when applying concepts we learned throughout the year.
