I have always valued the idea of succeeding in my classes and excelling at every task I was given. My academic success has always been a big part of who I am and I am proud of how far I have come in my academic career thus far. Scholarship not only involves your success but the success of your peers and helping them reach that success. The Honors College has opened me to so many opportunities to help further my scholarship. The honors courses I took last year were very eye opening. I learned a new way of thinking in my CTZN 110 class and increased my critical thinking skills. In my honors PHIL 495 class, I was able to see different perspectives and consider them against my personal opinions. Although these honors courses were difficult in the beginning, they pushed me to adapt and learn new skills and ways of learning to excel in both classes. I strive to continue to excel and increase my academic skills throughout each course I take during my college career.
