Biography

Welcome to my e-portfolio! My name is Isabella Jontz and my life here at Longwood University has been full of surprises and amazing opportunities so far. Freshman year was a hard adjustment, but I was still successful ending the year with a 3.7. I joined the Women’s Club Volleyball, which ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made for myself. It opened me up to meeting new people and staying active and busy. Later in the semester, I decided I wanted to be a peer mentor for incoming freshman. I applied and am going to be a peer mentor for the fall team in fall of 2020. Freshman year I started my educational path in the criminology and psychology field. Through both majors, I have met many other honors students with similar ideals and beliefs as me.

Second semester freshman year sadly got cut short due to the pandemic COVID-19. We were switched to entirely online which was a difficult adaptation. When finishing my Spanish 320 course in the spring semester, I decided to add Spanish as a minor for sophomore year. I love learning languages and think a minor in Spanish can greatly benefit me in my career goals. Sadly, I did not join a sorority my freshman year but am looking forward to joining one sophomore year. For my summer plans in 2020, I have an internship with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Department, my local county department. I am excited to get direct insight into the careers I am interested in and to gain experience with these careers. I can’t wait to see what this internship brings me and where it will lead me.
