Reflection: This class focused on the interactions between species, importance of biodiversity, genetic evolution, threats to biodiversity, and conservation habits for species and habitats. This class is writing intensive and required a variety of writing assignments on different case studies and environmental laws and policies. This class encouraged a higher level of civic engagement from all students to increase efforts to protect our home planet. For this class, we were required to participate in the Student Showcase for Research and Inquiry. The class was divided into five groups with each group presenting on a topic related to climate change. My group presented on the socio-economical and political aspects of climate change. With this project, I strengthened my research and presentation skills. I enjoyed being a part of the Student Showcase and working on a project for the entirety of the semester. This class helped me feel more comfortable with public speaking.
