Music 102, 103, 104:
These courses were taken in three different semesters throughout my freshman and sophomore year. This course was a band class. We would play pieces throughout the semester and perform them at concerts for the school. I really enjoyed these courses because I enjoy playing trumpet. In high school, I was in all the possible music ensembles I could be in. Being a part of Wind Symphony at Longwood helped me to have a way to express myself through music and also allowed for me to have an outlet to relax after a long day of science classes. Attached is a video of the band performing during a concert during my spring semester of my sophomore year. I particularly enjoyed this performance because we worked on music that was harder than what I had done with this band before. We even played a piece that our retired band director had specifically made for this band, which I really enjoyed. I was also given parts of the music that were really important, which made me practice more than usual and enjoy the pieces even more. In the second YouTube link is another concert that was performed in April 2021. This concert was the second concert that I shared the primary trumpet position with another music major, and was actually given some solos during the concert as well. Please enjoy them!
