Scholarship

19-20: Dean’s list!

As far as scholarship goes this year, I’d certainly say I’ve done a good job. For my entire life I’ve been told “Sam, you are so smart, but you just don’t apply yourself in school.” And those people were right. I just never tried–or wanted to do well in school–so my GPA was just decent at best in high school. Nothing special. Things changed as soon as I came to Longwood, though. Maybe it was the local air, or the Farmville tap, but either way I really started giving all my classes my A-game. I ended last semester with a 3.5 or so, and ended this semester with a 3.88. I truly put the time aside to get things done, went to the library when I needed to, and turned down fun when school was more important. Of course though, I still found time for fun in the gaps between work and sleep!

20-21: Dean’s list again!

School has only gotten harder, but I’ve kept chugging along. I’ve learned much better time management skills, and have been prioritizing saying no (nicely) to friends who invite me to stuff, when I have homework to do. Of course, I’m not saying I’m a secluded hermit who literally doesn’t show their face unless all of their homework is done… I’m just saying that my priority management and organization has gotten better. That’s a huge gain.

21-22: Dean’s list AGAIN!!!!

WOO! Deans list doesn’t stop (so far). I’ve been able to threepeat this bad boy… well.. three times! I’m really hoping I can get the same next year. That would be great. I am also still in the Cormier Honors college! It isn’t easy, but it’s very worth it. I’ve decided to add another minor as well: International Studies. Dr. Kane has encouraged me greatly and has been a massive assistance here. She is wonderful and I look forward to potentially applying this minor to many different jobs/careers in the future.

22-23: Hoping for the Dean’s quadruple crown!!!
