Goal 5: Math 171
Reflection
Statistics was one of my favorite courses in high school so I wasn’t too worried about taking this class. My professor knew how to make the class interesting by relating what we were learning to things that were applicable in our lives. This class was taken around the time of the vice-presidential debate, so while I was a little annoyed that majority of my classes were focused around the debate, it was interesting to see how statistics played a huge role in the process. I remember back in high school, while I loved math, I always had that mentality that “I’ll never use any of this in my life, so why do we have to learn it?” however, this course just proved that I was incorrect and math, statistics especially, is an important topic to understand in order to be successful.
