Community

During my short time at Longwood one of my main goal was to become involved in campus life. Becoming invested in clubs and organizations on campus has allowed me to gain many new friends, explore different perspectives, and travel around the Farmville community. The Longwood community has allowed me to grow in a safe, loving, and supportive environment. During my freshman year I joined B.A.S.I.C. Gospel Choir, The Black Student Association, A.F.R.O., Imprint Praise Dance Team, and Stampede.

My involvement in these clubs has allowed me to run for positions in two organizations for my sophomore year. I was elected to serve as secretary for B.A.S.I.C Gospel Choir and Historian for the Black Student Association. My involvement and hard work in both of these organizations lead a great honor of receiving a CHI Commendation. These organizations allowed for me break out of my shell and express myself freely in a non-judgmental safe space. I look forward to serving on the executive board of these two organizations so I can extend a warm welcome and help more students make Longwood free like home. I look forward to become a better leader and promoting more unity on campus.
