Honors ENGL 150: Writing and Research

Honors Writing and Research was a surprisingly challenging and thought-provoking class, and I really enjoyed it.  In high school, writing was approached as a vehicle to convey information of importance, rather than as something to be studied in and of itself.  It was exciting experiencing my concepts of what writing is and can do change over the course of the semester, and getting to analyze my own writing in a metacognitive way.

In the paper below, the first of the semester, I analyzed the writing practices I had developed prior to college.  Students were introduced to the practice of coding qualitative data in this paper when we were asked to find patterns in our pre-collegiate writings.
