To be completely honest, I was disappointed by the selection of books in this class.  Nearly all of the texts we spent any significant time on in class were from the Western world, and though I enjoyed reading them and learning about the contexts in which they were written, I do not feel I gained as much exposure to cultures outside of my own as I hoped to.  The papers we had to write did not require me to push my writing abilities past what I already knew, which means I have had a good writing education up until this point, but I would have liked to grow a bit as a reader or writer in this course, and I do not feel I did that within this course.
