HIST 100: Foundations of Western Civilization

I waited to take this course until my study abroad trip in Valencia, Spain, and I am so glad that I did.  While I am sure that I missed some of the details about the generalities of European history because of the fact that the course was only five weeks instead of a full semester, it was amazing getting to learn about the history of Spain while actually in the country.  I particularly loved learning about the history of the interactions between Islamic and Christian powers in the Iberian Peninsula, then going out and seeing how the influences of Islam and the mixtures of the cultures continue to influence Spanish culture.
