Honors Leadership Retreat

I really enjoyed participating in the Honors Leadership Retreat.  I’m a more reserved person and it’s difficult for me to meet new people.  Before attending the retreat, I was really nervous because I didn’t know anyone and it was my first time being away from home. The retreat helped me to come out of my shell and meet other honors students.

At the Honors Leadership Retreat, I was able to move in a week earlier than everyone else.  Each day we participated in different community service and bonding activities. We split up in groups of four. I was in the maple group. We volunteered at the Heartland Horse Heroes, explored Farmville with a place-as-text activity, zip-lined through trees at Sandy River Outdoor Adventures, and completed some odds and ends activities. The whole week was really fun and I enjoyed meeting and bonding with other honor students.
