MATH 307 –

Intro to Math Game Theory

In my Mathematics 307 class with Dr. Wears, I learned a lot about myself in taking an online math class. This was my first completely online math class that I took and I learned that I am able to take these classes online and still get a good grade. However, this course was challenging because there were only two people on zoom, one was me, while the rest of the class was in person. I had trouble hearing what Dr. Wears was teaching because my zoom would freeze while he was talking. One time, while we were preparing for a test, I misheard something that he had said to the class and when I went to take the test, I ended up getting a bad score on it. I immediately emailed Dr. Wears explaining my confusion on the test. Since, he knew my work ethic and because I had been getting 100s on all of our previous homework assignments, he let me redo the part of the test that I misinterpreted. I ended up getting close to a 100 on the test and my grade increased dramatically. From this experience in this course, I learned that hard work and making sure to complete all homework assignments are important. Also, I learned to not be afraid to contact professors when you feel that you have made a mistake or don’t understand the information. I learned that it doesn’t matter if you are in person or on zoom, your professors are there for you no matter what.

I included my integrative homework short report document as my artifact. I included this because this assignment/paper was hard for me to comprehend and know what to do. I contacted Dr. Wears and we set up a time on zoom to go over this assignment/paper and he helped clear up any confusion that I had. This is an important artifact to include because it is a great example of how I learned to contact my professor for any questions or concerns I had.
