Hello everyone! My name is Claire Briggs and I am a student at Longwood University in the Cormier Honors College. I am majoring in Nursing and I have aspirations of becoming a critical care nurse once I have finished the baccalaureate program here at Longwood. I have a passion for helping others and hope that through obtaining my nursing degree I can positively impact the patients I care for all over my community. I am excited to see what the Cormier Honors College and Longwood’s Nursing Program has to offer me in my next few years spent in Farmville!
On my first day visiting Longwood’s campus, I was told that joining clubs and organizations on campus was the best way to make my time in Farmville special. Since the fall semester of 2019, I have joined the Longwood Company of Dancers, the Student Nursing Association, and the Nursing Honors Society. I have also had the amazing opportunity of being a Peer Mentor to freshmen and transfer students new to Longwood’s campus. One of my favorite memories so far at Longwood was getting the chance to be a Spirit Leader in the 2020 Oktoberfest celebration. It was an honor to be a part of one of Longwood’s most special traditions!
