Goal 1: LSEM, Longwood Seminar

LSEM-52, New Lancer Days, Fall 2016

As stated under the Honors Courses Tab, I learned a lot bout myself as a student and my profession through our weekly journals. For example, through our first journal I learned more about the  traditions and customs of Longwood that I had only vaguely known before. Another journal let me research and fully grasp the type of research and observational skills that I would have used in my future profession as a special needs teacher.

What I would like to reflect on most from this course is our second journal, which focused on learning time management. Because of this journal, I finally got to see what I had been dedicating my time to, and what it was that I should be focusing on instead through being given categories (time alone, school work, in class, sleep, friends, and extra-curricular) and 24 hours to distribute among them. By doing this I fully realized that I need to focus on certain things, and I have become much more organized because of it. My school work is completed in a more timely manner ( which means no more procrastination!), and I have found my happy medium for time for friends, clubs, and more. Overall, my stress levels have been reduced by a good amount since I realize what I should be focusing on once I get deeper into the coursework of my major.
