Sociology of Education focused on schools and the systems within and around schools. Dr. Milne was an engaged professor, with probably way too much energy for an 8 am course.
This course had us look into our own lives, including budgeting for our adult lives. This course was one that I took for the credit but it also focused on education and schools which I plan to work in. We had heavy reading assignments but the course was designed for us to learn and to pass. I did not struggle with much, but really enjoyed the class.
We had a number of written assignments, but only one was required to be in a written format instead of bullet points. This one is an analysis and critique of an educational policy. I looked into a policy and asked, “What does it do?”, “Where does it succeed?”, and “Where and who does is fail?”.
