Math 171, statistics, was a hard class for me and I did not do as well as I would have liked. This class satisfied the quantitative reasoning pillar. The main issue for me was that I thought my answers were wrong but instead, I didn’t write the steps right so I would get points off then try to write it more like the professor described but no matter how I wrote it at least one step would be written wrong or on one test I forgot a step explanation. Math classes I never understood because if I am consistently getting the correct answer I don’t see the point in listing every step that I’ve taken and I usually found that math teachers are annoyed by this than most. I do try to improve and remember to write down the steps I take but since it is not something I think about I often will omit something I found unimportant to note or end up writing way too much. Overall I was not interested in the topic and only took it because I was required to for a pillar, I found the teaching style to not be well suited to my learning style. If I do take this class again for a better grade I will be taking it with a different professor that hopefully will better suit my learning style and can better help me reflect the grade with my knowledge. Everyone has a class where the teacher/professor is not always the best for you and this was mine, this said the professor was nice and again just had a style of teaching that did not assist my learning making things harder to understand and correct.
