EDUC 245

This class was taken the second semester of my freshman year.  In this education class, we learned all about human growth and development from infancy through adolescence.  I found this class to be very interesting and fun to learn about, especially because it goes along with my major requirements.  Learning about children at all different ages was very fascinating and extremely useful for me since I am going to become an elementary school teacher one day.  This class definitely challenged me as I had to go out and interview three children, gather their answers, and write a huge paper on an evaluation of it, however, it really helped me gain lots of knowledge I didn’t have before.  One important thing I took away from the class was the multiple different ways to respond and react to children in real life scenarios which is an important aspect of teaching that you don’t necessarily get from textbooks.

The artifact for this class is our three ages project we did at the end of the semester.  We were instructed to conduct three interviews for three different stages of child development.  Then from those interview answers, we had to write a paper analyzing their answers.  Along with analyzing them, we had to incorporate what we had learned in the class and different theorists approaches to each child we interviewed.
