This class was taken the first semester of my sophomore year. I actually really enjoyed this class as it was a little challenging but not too difficult for me since math is the subject I’m strongest in and I learned some really important life skills. My professor taught us how interest, taxes, loans, mortgages, and so many more important things work which was extremely helpful as I will definitely be using them in the future. If it wasn’t for this class, I wouldn’t know how to determine or calculate the math I would need to know for those very important situations I will find myself in. I also enjoyed how we did a lot of group or partner work within the class as I was able to meet new people and work through multi-step math problems together. It was really useful and interesting being able to solve real life situations and discuss it as a group to determine the best decisions to make for the best outcome.

Title: Writing Project #2
Author: Katelyn Weber

The artifact for this class is our Writing Project #2 that was completed toward the end of the semester. This was a very challenging paper to complete, but it was great experience as I was able to solve a situation that could potentially happen to me. The objective was to discuss the effects of change in interest rates over a long period of time and how it would impact my two “friends” in the future financially if they were to refinance their mortgage. After I had analyzed and explained all of the possible outcomes that could happen, I had to propose the best solution in my opinion to help them make the best decision for themselves financially.
