Symposium on the Common Good
I took this course in the Fall 2021 semester with Dr. Blincoe. Going into this class, I was neither excited nor disinterested, as I simply had no idea what to expect. This course ended up being more focused and centered around philosophy, which was unexpected, but I appreciated the information I learned. I had never taken a philosophy course before so this was all a very new experience for me. It helped me better myself as a reader and critical thinker, and for that I am very appreciative. Additionally, the class purpose was to create or plan a nature play path for the town of Farmville. Now, this was never became a reality, however doing so allowed me to further develop my skills as a team player and work collaboratively with others. While I may not agree with much of the source material used in this class, I acknowledge that, in the end, I did grow as a better citizen and student. The artifact below is my final reflection from the course. I chose this assignment as it highlights my understanding, feelings, and appreciation for the subject material of the course. This assignment allowed me to further develop my reflective skills, both in terms of myself and academically. I’m proud of my honestly in this assignment and, overall, it is my favorite thing I did in this course.
The artifact above is a paper written by myself, Tucker Marshall, on December 8, 2021, and is titled “Summary Reflection.” This assignment was chosen as it best sums up my experience and feelings on this course and its material. Additionally, it forced me to develop new writing skills, and for that growth, I am appreciative.
