Dear Senior Molly,

When you were writing this letter, you were sitting at the baseball field waiting for your brother’s game to start. While sitting there, you thought about how quickly your first  year of college had gone by. Unlike your high school years, your freshman year of college just breezed past rather than you constantly questioning “when is it going to be summer?”

So many amazing things had occurred in your life during this past school year.  You have grown so much since your time at Clover Hill High School. Choosing Longwood University and the Cormier Honors College as your home for the past 4 years was one of the best decisions you have ever made for yourself. Rather than picking a larger school, you knew that picking a small school, close to home was the best decision for yourself.  And it has definitely paid off. You have made so many amazing friends here through both the Cormier Honors College and the Nursing Program. One of the most important pieces of advice that a sorority sister gave me was to “Find my people and to hold onto them because they will be your support system, encouraging you and making you the best version of yourself.”  I met my person at the Honors Preview night. I didn’t know it then, but Shannon would grow to be your person. Cherish her because you two really were meant to meet and be friends together. Also, let’s not forget Charlotte, your roommate, who had been your friend since the 6th grade. She is a great person, and even though she’s scared of germs and that can get annoying sometimes, she really does mean well and loves you very much.  Also, be thankful to have gotten a semester with your Big, Megan in your life. Follow in her footsteps and strive to be the best you that you can be.

This semester, you had a really great Spring semester. You were elected treasurer of the Honors Student Association and the treasurer of Pitch Perfect, the a cappella group you were apart of. Also, you were initiated into the Alpha Chapter to The Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority on campus. When you were accepted into Sigma, you gained not just more friends, but a family. I’m so glad that your mom made you rush because joining Tri-Sigma was one of the best decisions you have ever made.

As I conclude this letter to yourself, I will leave you with some parting wisdom. “Be not afraid of Life” meaning don’t be afraid to try something new or to do what you think is right, even if that means taking a journey on the road less traveled. Also, “if you are going through hell, keep going” said by Winston Churchill.  With this I mean, even if you are experiencing a hard time in your life, be it with nursing school or responsibilities, keep looking forward because all of your hard work will pay off in the end.
