Foundations of Western Civilization was the most challenging general education course I took my freshman year.  This was mainly because I struggled to find a topic I was even remotely interested in.  It is hard to succeed and thrive in a class when not passionate about a topic.  However, I did understand the importance and need to expose myself to classes that I may not necessarily “love” which is how I was able to find motivation to maintain a high scholarly standard even amongst this class.
