Internship

As a business student at Longwood University’s College of Business and Economics, I was required to complete an internship before graduation. For my internship, I had the opportunity to work in Longwood’s Campus Recreation department as a Marketing Supervisor for the 2019-2020 school year. I was responsible for maintaining all of our social media accounts, creating graphics for our accounts, promoting events, creating flyers for events, and, during the second semester I had a Marketing Assistant who I directly supervised.

I received a significant amount of responsibility during my internship and even had the chance to help plan our Late Night at the Rec event during the Spring semester and lead the recruitment and interview process for our 2020-2021 Marketing Assistant as I was asked to stay on as the Marketing Supervisor for the 2020-2021 school year. Not only was I able to learn more about social media and event marketing, but I had the opportunity to learn how to supervise and delegate tasks to my assistant while in a leadership role.

Below are samples of the graphic design work I did to create flyers for Campus Recreation. They were created using the graphic design platform ‘Canva’ and are original works that I designed myself. Underneath the flyers are some of the videos that I shot and produced for the department. These videos ranged from showcasing events that we held, demonstrating different exercises, and advertising our fitness classes and available equipment. These are all completely original and all elements were created by me.
