In this course, we studied the principles, practices, and techniques of writing and speaking in a business setting. Some of the activities we did included learning about report and letter writing, interpersonal and group communication, and oral presentation skills.
One of our first reports was a Career Assessment Report (see attached) that had us research our planned field of study and look at potential jobs we would be interested in. We then had to assess our own abilities and experience and determine what we would need to do going forward in order to gain the experience required for those particular jobs.
Another one of our projects, the External Communication Audit (see attached), had us compare the designs of two websites in the same area and determine why one was more effective than the other in terms of organization. I decided to study two different Customer Relationship Management (CRM) websites, Salesforce and Oracle Sales Cloud, to show why Salesforce is more effective and successful than Oracle’s product. I have included both the paper I wrote for this project and the PowerPoint that I used to present it.
