My previous biology major required me to take biology 120 as my introductory bio class. In this class, we focused on the scientific method and mostly reviewed previous materials that we had learned over many years of schooling and then expanded on each subject briefly. This is supposed to be taken with biology 250 the next semester as it grows on this class taking the focus from the materials and methods and results of a report to the entire report. By the end of biology 120, I was better at doing some parts of a lab report and started learning research procedures that would go into the final lap. This would also satisfy the scientific reasoning pillar but chemistry 111 is what I have on my records as counting.
This was an interesting class but I do wish at time we went a bit more into detail and did not go into as much detail into things that we had already learned numerous times. Punnet squares and pedigrees took up a few class days that I think could have been condensed into one and instead expanded on some other topics. Overall though, this was a fun class and I did enjoy the projects that we did. Dr. Zonosko was a great teacher and I would highly recommend a peer to take a class with him! The artifact below is the final presentation about bacterial growth on bathroom doors.
